Originally entitled Vision and Title: Theory Meets Practice. Part of [[Peterson Academy]]. This course is about how to have a vision for our life, and how to implement that.
Taoist Worldview: The intertwining interplay between the black serpent and white serpent, characterized by chaos and order, and often associated with the feminine and the masculine (Yin and Yang).
One of the most important decisions we have to make is the stance we took towards the domains of chaos and order.
## Chaos
This is the realm of things we don't understand. This is unexplored territory They can be geographical-physical territories — places we are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with, or conceptual territories — unfamiliar or knowledge yet to be acquired.
### The Edge is the Mean
The edge of the unknown is where we are curiously engaged. That is where learning is optimal. Phenomenologically, the experience of engagement when we are at the boundary of what we know is a signal of meaning and optimized transformation.
## Order
We inhabit the domain of order when our outcomes align with our intentions — we get what we want. That's what it means to be operating within known territory.\

Foolish First Steps
The fool is the precursor to the savior. A necessary condition to undergoing major transformation towards something great is to allow oneself to look foolish, because transformation often starts small, and perhaps even a shameful scale. On a practical level, it is wise to break down big transoformative goals even smaller chunks, to the point where one might be able to take it on willingly, and to the point hwere it presents itself as being interesitng, engaging, and meaningful.
Stumbling Forward
Life is made up of things you repeat. Twenty minutes a day add up to 12 work days a year, and that's 5 percent of your whole life. The implications are two fold: you should seek to improve the things you do reppeatedly, but also you should forgive yourself for doing things less ideally in the beginning, because theese are life long stumbling forward processes.
Value of Repeating Tasks
Getting repetetive tasks right is important. On the other hand, people often overvalu exceptionsm which do often end in disappointment due to that overvalueation. It is a form of pride to only want to identify with the exceptional momeents and not the mundade day-to-day tasks, but true mastery over a situation or a task is to make the mundane enjoyable — like a play.
